From Madinah's Clay, Tales of Authenticity Unfold

My project is a small workshop specialized in pottery and ceramic art based in the Prophet's Holy City of Madinah. We transform raw clay into unique artistic masterpieces and heritage utensils that carry the scent of history and pulse with a contemporary spirit, making every piece we produce an authentic story that narrates the beauty and details of the place.
I am Ahlam Abdulatiff Qarah, a Saudi craftswoman from Madinah with a deep passion for pottery and ceramic art. My journey began with a simple fascination for clay, and thanks to dedicated training and practice, this passion evolved into a professional craft and a business that blends authentic heritage with modern touches.
My field is ceramics and pottery making. I specifically chose this field because of its close connection to our identity, heritage, and the rich history of Madinah. I was profoundly inspired by the idea of turning silent earth into artistic pieces that speak of beauty and live within our daily details. I saw it as my ideal medium to pass this ancient heritage down to future generations with a modern twist.
I applied for support and funding after completing intensive training programs and acquiring the advanced skills necessary to manage and operate the project efficiently, driven by a strong desire to turn this hobby and craft into a sustainable, real-world project.
I benefited from the Bank in a comprehensive way; the support wasn't just financial, but started with cognitive and professional empowerment by joining the "Vocational and Craft Training Program."Specifically, I benefited from:
The Plaster Molds and Ceramic Art Course: Which was the very first step that opened the doors to this world for me.
The Ceramic Art Innovation Program: Which helped me refine my skills and soar higher with the creative aspect of my work.
Project Incubation: Having the project incubated in one of the Bank's production incubators provided me with the ideal environment for high-quality production and professional market access.

My advice to anyone with a passion or a craft is never to hesitate in taking the first step. Start with continuous learning, refine your skills, and take full advantage of the excellent opportunities, programs, and government support available around you, such as the programs offered by the Social Development Bank. Consistency, believing in your idea, and paying close attention to the quality and details of what you offer are the ultimate secrets to success and distinction in the labor market.
