The Social Development Bank was awarded the WSBI-ESBG SDG Award for promoting the Sustainable Development Goals for 2025, in its first edition launched by the WSBI-ESBG, the World Organisation for Savings Banks and Retail Banks, to honor the most prominent member institutions that have excelled in supporting and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the global level.
The award was presented on the sidelines of the 2025 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held in Washington, D.C.
The bank's winning of this international award recognizes its excellence in implementing best practices in supporting economic growth and empowerment, innovation and digital transformation, and customer education and training, in addition to its contributions to promoting sustainable development and empowering citizens through its financing system and non-financial services, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
This recognition reflects the Social Development Bank's leading position among international financial and development organizations and its success in integrating the principles of Sustainability is a key element of its national programs and initiatives, which have benefited more than 10 million citizens and establishments. Since its establishment, the bank has provided unique models of support to various segments of society, exceeding a value of 166 billion riyals, and its initiatives have become real success stories that have clearly impacted the lives of individuals and the national economy.
The bank also provided comprehensive solutions to promote financial inclusion and support entrepreneurs, and invested in digital transformation, to become a true partner to its beneficiaries in their journey towards empowerment and success.
On this occasion, the CEO of the Social Development Bank, Engineer Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Humaidi, expressed his pride in this achievement, emphasizing that this international recognition reflects the bank's standing as one of the most prominent development entities in the Kingdom and the region, and constitutes a fundamental pillar within the economic and social development system.
