The Bank for Social Development announced the conclusion of the 72-hour challenge of the Game Thon challenge in Boulevard Riyadh and the announcement of the names of the winners of the teams involved in the various tracks in the presence of a number of prominent personalities.

The 30 challenge teams competed for the creation of electronic games aimed at promoting savings and financial awareness concepts. The value of cash prizes distributed to the winners was SAR 100,000. An energy team culminated in winning the first place. The second was the share of a terrific Astudio team, a third-grade language profiling team and a fourth-central fraudulent evolvement of the project.

The winning teams will have a three-month chance of hosting the Jeddah 30 programme, where they will be provided with an integrated duty station, as well as guidance and orientation sessions with selected leading advisers through the Dili Centre, and will be linked to potential investors to support the transformation of their ideas into successful businesses.

In his closing ceremony, Engineer Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al-Hamdi, Executive Chairman of the Social Development Bank, said: " Today we are hosting winners in the Challenge of Theon, and we reaffirm our deep commitment to support the National Games and Sports Strategy. We are committed to providing all enabling tools to innovators, developers and programmers, through appropriate pilot programmes, and specialized workshops, as well as to empower them.

The Thong values represent a qualitative step within the Kingdom ' s endeavours to transform into a regional and global centre in this vital sector and to support the prospects of the Saudi digital economy.

Hamdi added: " Our efforts go beyond investing in e-works, to reach financial awareness and savings in a recreational and fun context that promotes competition and knowledge, making them more acceptable and influenced among emerging generations. The challenge of the Thong values is an opportunity to explore and channel local digital skills towards innovation and productivity. "

The Challenge of The Thong is in line with the National Strategy for Electronic Games and Sports launched by the Crown Prince in 2022, which aims to make the Kingdom a global centre and attraction for creative talents and ideas. Through this strategy, the Bank for Social Development seeks to achieve financial sustainability for industry, contribute to the diversification of the national economy and create new jobs, and strengthen the Kingdom ' s position as a global destination in this area.

In this context, the Bank for Social Development recently announced the signing of two conventions on the establishment of two bold investment funds in the game and electronic sports sector, in collaboration with the National Development Fund, with a total value of SAR 450 million, aimed at establishing a speed of business to promote growth and develop local talent, as well as stimulating the private sector to invest and attract international companies to the Kingdom, thereby contributing to the sustainability and growth of this promising sector.
