The Social Development Bank (SDB) and NAMAAL Social Investment Company have signed a cooperation agreement to establish a SAR 10 million financing portfolio aimed at supporting and empowering entrepreneurs and emerging enterprises operating in social investment sectors, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and its ambition to build a vibrant and sustainable economy.
The partnership is designed to strengthen social investment efforts, with SDB managing and operating the portfolio and directing its allocations toward entrepreneurs in priority areas including human health, environmental responsibility and social impact. The initiative will help stimulate innovative ideas, strengthen the role of small and emerging enterprises in developing local content, and create sustainable employment opportunities.
Commenting on the agreement, Eng. Sultan bin Abdulaziz Alhamidi, Chief Executive Officer of the Social Development Bank, said the partnership builds on the Bank’s efforts to expand strategic partnerships and channel development finance toward sectors capable of delivering sustainable social impact. He noted that the portfolio will help create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and emerging enterprises in environmental and social fields, enabling their continuity and growth while strengthening their contribution to the national economy.
Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Mutawa, Chairman of NAMAAL Social Investment Company, said the partnership aligns with NAMAAL’s mission to enable innovative social solutions and provide financing for social enterprises, reinforcing social investment as a key driver of inclusive economic and social development in the Kingdom.
The agreement forms part of SDB’s plan to establish a SAR 1 billion corporate social responsibility portfolio aimed at expanding economic opportunities and increasing the contribution of the non-profit and private sectors to national economic growth.
