In line with the legislative objectives in the Kingdom, the Social Development Bank system was issued by Royal Decree No. (M/34) dated 06/01/1427 AH

The system was called (The Saudi Credit and Savings Bank), and many amendments were made to the bank's system.

Perhaps the most notable of these was amending the bank's name to the Social Development Bank and the decision to affiliate with the Development Bank. The Social Development Bank was organized by the National Development Fund issued by the Council of Ministers No. (132) and dated No. 3/3/1439 AH, which strengthened the role of the Social Development Bank as one of the possible government agencies for citizens and their support in the Kingdom. The Bank has worked hard in preparing the executive regulations to contribute to the level of the legislative environment. In the bank in order to achieve the aspirations of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
